DailyPhotos > Kerry Ellis  > Galleries > Word of the Day
I've seen, and been inspired by, many "photo a day" projects, so I thought I'd try one myself, with my own little grammarian spin: create a photo using a Word of the Day gadget on my Google homepage for guidance and inspiration. And what better day than January 27, my thirtieth birthday, to begin such an undertaking? (Okay, maybe new year's day, but I was too lazy to bother then.) This project is also to help keep me thinking and creating images the way DGrin's Last Photographer Standing contest has challenged me to do--a challenge I've found really enjoyable and creatively stimulating. Wish me luck (and perseverance) in this endeavor!

January 31, 2009 (Day ... it doesn't matter anymore!)

Blog: a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer

Posting here for those who requested it. Be afraid: I have started a blog. I can't promise regular postings, though I hope to make it somewhat useful for folks when I do manage it. Here's to the rest of 2009!

Sláinte!

Edit: You'd think I learn to post about lighting when there are photographers in the audience. ^_^ This shot is simply the setting sun coming through my living room windows (yes, my windows rock!). The windows made the gobo. I barked some orders to the model (nicely--but we were in a hurry because the light was fading fast) so her face would be in the right spot of light. I'll post a set-up shot of the flash lighting we later used tomorrow on l'blog.
